In Stillwater, Okla., a city with a little less than 40,000 people, there are several churches and religious organizations for residents to choose from. At every church, there are many people that help in many different ways to make worship at that organization possible. Some people are those that are typically associated with a worship service, while others are workers that are sometimes never seen or heard.
James Price is the new music minister at First Baptist Church. He was recently hired at this traditional church to help launch its new contemporary service.
At the Saint John University Catholic Parish the janitor, Richard, helps with setting up and taking down chairs and tables, cleaning and preparing kitchen setup.
Gayle Wolfe is on the creative elements team at the Baptist Collegiate Ministry. She is in charge of preparing drinks and snacks for the BCM’s weekly meeting.
Lucy Newlin is the secretary at the First Presbyterian Church. Her activities vary from copying, phone calls and paper work.
At Eagle Heights Baptist Church, Ashley Greer is the three-year-old Sunday school classroom teacher. She tells the kids bible stories, makes crafts, has playtime and gives the kids snacks every week.
A group of three to five volunteers help run lights, audio and video at Life Church. This is a particularly important task for this unique church that has a pre-videoed sermon every week.
