Basically what I wanted to do here was capture the relationships between people and their pets. I went into this project wanting it to be a lighthearted essay with lots of fun and colorful pictures. I went into these people's homes and asked them to do what they normally do with their pets. For most, it was playing with their pets, but for others, it was just showing some affection. All the pictures are candid type shots, trying to caputre the moment. Each person considered their pet part of their family.
These first three picture are of Kerby and his dog Darlin. Kerby has other dogs for work purposes, but Darlin stays in the house.
This is Daniel and his dogs Blue Bear and Sooner. Daniel mainly keeps his dogs outside but lets them come in when he's ready to play with them.
These next three are of one year old Emily, her dad Mik and their cat Chica. Emily played with Chica while I took the pictures and the whole time would tell me how a cat sounds and cry "meow".
This is Eileen and her dog Sassy. She has had Sassy in her family for than 13 years. Sassy is older now and doesn't like to play as much. But always greets Eileen at the door when she comes in. Their relationship shows the more emotional side of owning pets.
These last three shots are of Kace and his dog Paisley. I asked him what they normally do together and he immediately took me out to the back yard and Paisley went to grab her tennis ball.
