This past weekend I attended a basketball intramural game and captured some interesting action shots. I ended up picking this picture because not only is the primary action in the middle of the picture, but also the three players on the white team helped lead into the focal point of the picture. This image gives off great exposer and action of this intramural event, which took place at the Colvin Annex.
This picture was taken at the Sheerar Museum of Stillwater History that was introducing "Star Quilts" Event.    The Museum kicked of the season with an Open House and Exhibit showing off the several works from the American Quilt study group.  This picture shows great detail along with deep perception. 

Assignment 2

For the past two semesters, every Friday after class a group of my neighbors gather to participate in what they call "Wheelchair Fridays." Basically they each have purchased their own wheelchair and they roll around the street playing wheelchair games and drinking beer.

It was hard to get the lighting on these to work out because it was so bright and it was extremely difficult to read the screen to see what I was changing. There were also a lot of shadows on their faces so it was hard to catch them in good lighting. I had to use a fast shutter speed so the photos weren't washed out.

Assignment 2: Events

This weekend was the kick-off of the OSU basketball intramural games.  Some of the games were played in the newly renovated Colvin Annex.  It was my first time to visit the new facilities and I was very impressed with the renovations.  I thought that this picture was a perfect representation of the starting of intramural basketball games being played in the new Colvin Annex. 

I also visited the Adam's Market to check out the farm fresh peanut tasting event. Snider Farms Peanut Barn of Hollis, OK provided fresh peanuts, peanut butter cookies, and peanut butter and jelly wraps for students to sample.   I chose this picture because I thought it was a great advertisement for Snider Farms and a good representation of the event.

In both of these photos, I adjusted the aperture and depth of field in order to place focus and draw the eye to certain parts of my photographs (basketball/peanut packaging), while blurring the background.

Assignment 2

I went to the Illustrator 54 gallery. This portrait was made with only paint and pen by Bil Donovan.

The second and third photo is of the peanut tasting in the Adams Market. January is national peanut month. The peanuts featured were grown in Hollis, Okla. and were used in the peanut butter and jelly wraps and cookies for students to taste.

This is the line to get nto the Gun Show in Oklahoma City Fair Grounds.There were a lot of people there and I chose this picture to show because I thought showed how guns usually are not allowed inside buildings or at events of any kind, but there is a guys with a rifle on his shoulder.

Freezing firefighter

Saw this photo on usatoday.com about the nearly record low temperatures we are facing this week. I love the extremes of this photo and detail contrasting the firefighter.

Assignment 1: Stillwater Fire Department

I took this photograph of the Stillwater Fire Department on the corner of Knoblock and University.  I incorporated the street signs in my photo in order to show the location.  I chose the afternoon to shoot my picture where the sun and focus was on the actual fire department building.

Hiking McMurtry

As much as I like this picture, I hate how my shadow is in the photo. It was a fun refreshing hike, but the temperature was a little to cold to be enjoyed cutting our time in the outdoors short.
