Assignment

Hi folks, as we talked about in class, your assignment this week (and next) is to research and propose your story idea for your final project. This should be a topic that holds your interest. It needs to be a subject that can revisit several times. It needs to be something with a real story behind it. Something you can dig you teeth into.

This is not a 2 paragraph proposal. You need to have details. Names, events, locations and the angle from which you plan to approach the story.

Here are the examples that we saw in class:

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to call or email.

Thanks,
Shane

Moment

I took this photo this past Saturday at Boomer Lake. I followed this guy and his friend around for a bit as they were playing something called Frisbee golf I believe, which I'm unfamiliar with. When I got to the lake is was really pretty and sunny, and almost immediately got cloudy and cold when I started taking photos, so I was pretty disappointed with the lighting. I liked this photo because he still has his arm fully extended after tossing it, and the Frisbee is still in view as well.

zachgray - The Ninth Floor [wk 8]

A story about addiction.

Un momento por favor

This is my moment of Ryan Stewart getting to talk to former OSU assistant coach James Dickey.
Ryan grew up a life long OSU basketball fan and said it was one of the greatest thrills in his life to talk to Dickey, who now coaches at Stillwater high.

The Moment- Holly Livengood

I took this picture while baking cupcakes with my nephews. Like many kids his favorite part is licking the mixing spoon. I love this picture because it takes me back to when I was a kid and would help my mom bake :)

The only thing that bothers me is the reflection in his glasses....

zachgray - Moment [wk 8]

This moment came from my most recent shoot with "Cowboy" Kenny Bartram. Resting between runs, Kenny emphatically described a jump on one of the new ramps at his personal track.

moment assignment; Student Union

No matter what i did I couldn't get the blur out of the pictures, but I thought this picture was cool because the shoe is in focus but the body isn't. Hopefully this is what he wanted!

Show the Puddle Who's Boss.

This image to me shows how as we grow older, we lose our innocence to the world. As we grow older we forget how fun the rain can be and only realize how much of a nuisance it is to our hair, clothes or event. As a child, rain is the chance to play, jump in puddles and enjoy childhood. Everyone gets caught up in getting to the place we're needing to go that sometimes we forget that puddles are meant to be jumped in and if done correctly we don't get wet as the jumper, everything around us endures our wrath of power.

Assignment 7

Sharon's Wish

This past weekend I went to Tulsa to have a "send-off" party for Sharon, whose wish will come true next weekend. Sharon has leukemia and last summer she was approved by the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Oklahoma to receive a wish for her and her family. I, along with two other interns, took on Sharon's wish, which was to meet the Disney princesses at Disneyworld.
This moment happened when I was sitting by Sharon at Incredible Pizza and she was showing me her "noodle trick." She was so silly and energetic you'd never know she was sick. We had a lot of fun with her and her family and I can't wait to see pictures from her trip.

The Moment

Assignment #7

ASS SEVEN: Moment

Gotta love kids

I knew this guy would be at the IHOP on Lewis in Tulsa because I've seen him several times before. He's been making balloon animals for 14 years and has appeared on Sesame Street over 20 times, he said. He made the little girl a ladybug bracelet, but when he went to put it on her she looked at him like, "You want me to do what?" It was priceless.

The Moment...Box

I thought this image portrayed the "moment" perfectly. The shots I have before this aren't captivating enough, because they look like any other game. And the one's after the receiver is already on the ground. This picture makes the viewer wonder if he caught it, how he landed, and drives your eye from the receiver to the other players chasing him. I thought this was a great "moment"

The Moment...

I went to the Tulsa Zoo this weekend and was able to get this photo from one of the younger chimps. It was pretty amazing that he looked directly at me because there were a lot of people in the room at the time. I know that this isn't a people photo, which is probably what Shane wants, but this is the best example of a moment I had. If I hadn't taken this photo at this exact moment, it would've been completely different. Also, I know I should probably censor this photo a little more, but I felt it was framed too nicely to do so.... sorry about the nudity.

Fire Station #2

The location I chose to do is Bridle Creek Horse Ranch and Resort. The reason why i chose this location was because of the beauty and I just love rodeos. You could even stay the night if you wanted to.
