Final Assignment: Kelly

The Plaza District, located on 16th Street
between Classen and Penn Street, is home to
32 businesses ranging from food to art galleries.
Darcy Schein, co-owner of Pie Junkie, takes a second to catch
up with old friends who stopped in for pies to enjoy Easter
Sunday.

Celia, a Pie Junkie employee, helps two Tulsa natives select
which slice of pie to enjoy during their stop in.

Druken Turtle pie is a top seller at Pie Junkie with its
chocolatey, carmel goodness.

Hayley, DNA Galleries manager, preps new shipments to put
on the shelves in preparation for LIVE on the Plaza.
DNA Galleries is primarily stocked with local artists creations.
It is all about "keeping it local," and is full of Oklahoma City
Thunder shirts and trinkets that make our state unique.
During LIVE on the Plaza, an artist showcase is hung in the
store. There are also prints readily available for customers to
purchase on a day-to-day basis, most of which have
something to do with Oklahoma.
LIVE on the Plaza is the second Friday of the month. It is a
chance for the community to come together and support the
local shops and restaurants.

It is a time to be with family and friends, there is no
age limit for the fun and laughter that is ahead.
Local food trucks line 16th Street for an added
experience. Roxy's Ice Cream Social is a favorite
stop especially for those with children or still a child
at heart.
LIVE allows people who wouldn't normally be together, get
to know one another. It is this openness to new friendships
that makes the Plaza District unique.
Local artists set up booths to showcase and sell their goods.
Booths range from jewelry to art pieces to furniture pieces.
It is moments like this that
capture the easy-going, calm
sense that makes the Plaza
a place you want to spend
time with family.
