Not Your Average Student - Buck Rich

Unlike most students, who use the weekend to relax and spend time with friends, Buck Rich likes to go work on his family's ranch in Okemah, Okla. Here he surveys the damage done to the Ranger, an off-road vehicle used to get around on the land.

Cattle are prominent on the ranch. Here Buck is looking at tags to find a certain cow so he can check how she's coming along in her pregnancy. 

Buck and friend Braden Bryant get the Mule, another off-road vehicle, stuck in the overflow of the North Canadian River that cuts through the Ranch. They were searching for a small boat they had left near the bank. 

Buck And Braden push and pull in an effort to get the Mule out of the water. It took more than an hour to get the Mule unstuck. 

Buck works on some tubes, hoping to get water out of their lines so that the Mule will start and everyone can start the 2.5 mile journey home. 

Buck saw the humor in the situation, but candidly expressed his frustration with the ordeal, which set back his plans for the afternoon. 

Buck and family friend John Teel work on the motor of a fishing boat. Buck and his friends Bradent and JW Teel bought the boat over the summer and have been working on it since. 

Buck keys the ignition, hoping to hear the engine roar to life. As of yet, the group had not had success. 

After a while, and a few close calls, the engine finally starts, causing Buck to celebrate. 

A few weeks later, Buck's younger cousin Marshall joins Buck and Bradent as they take the boat on Lake Toby for the first time. Luckily, it not only starts, but floats as well. The boys are going fishing to bring dinner home. 

When Buck is not doing work around the farm or working on his boat, he likes to spend time on the land.  Here he looks out over the ranch as the sun prepares to set.

Another one of his hobbies is hunting. Buck stands quietly, listening for the sound of a male Turkey. He had just used the small object in his mouth to imitate the call of a Turkey in hopes of "Getting them talking." 

Buck sits with one of his best friends, a 5-year-old lab named Penny, as his friend and roommate Matt Loewen works to plow ground to start a garden. Sometimes it is nice to just sit back and relax.
