Shelton Cemetery is located on the outskirts of Stillwater, Okla., near Perry. It was given to the community who started a homestead during the land run on the land adjacent from the acre lot. There is no actual record of the cemetery, so there is no actual account of how many people are buried here. Many of the headstones have been stolen, vandalized, or weathered away.
Pam and Bill Beitz are in charge of the upkeep of the cemetery. They have family buried in the cemetery and know a lot of history of some of the families buried there.
There is a collection being taken for helping with the upkeep of the cemetery.
