Life Is Like A Box of Chocolates

To capture a portrait of the African American male is to capture his emotion, his thoughts, his feelings, his character. He holds a great deal on his face, like words etched in stone. I've had a lot of interaction with the black man. I know him well. He is a mysterious, interesting, and complex man. I wanted to create a simple portrait essay that could tell a story without me really needing to say a word.

These are my "chocolates." Different colors, different flavors, different textures, some rough outsides, smooth insides and some smooth outsides, rough insides, and always a wild card or two.
