Jesse Tabish is a Stillwater musician.
His studio downtown is as dark as a cave, so I opened up the aperture all the way and balanced the camera on his desk for a long exposure. The result is blue gloomy light seething into the studio from the covered windows across the room during golden hour, and splashes of yellow light from the few halogen lamps he had on.
I like how blue Jesse is. Unfortunately, there was nothing to light up his face, which is also a bit out of focus. Also, Jesse was slowly tilting his head side to side as he listened to a recent recording, so his movement might have blurred his face a little during the exposure.
What really makes this picture are all the neat details, like his recording equipment and the painting in the background. This is Jesse at work.
