Shot at 6:40ish pm with the sun behind his head and using a white card to reflect light back at him. I also set the white balance for shade to give a more warm, golden look.
For a few weeks now, I have been talking with a friend who leads the fighter practice meetings for the local Society of Creative Anachronism chapter about shooting a few of their gatherings.
After last week's class on lighting I wanted to come in and shoot a few interesting portraits of the guys in all their gear but this is the only one who showed up with his own custom made equipment. Everyone else was in hockey gear with random metal helmets.
