From Germany to OSU: Sabrina Swanger

Hello, My name is Sabrina Swanger and I am from a small village named Neuhof, Germany. 

I first came to Oklahoma 4 years ago to be with my boyfriend Jamie.

I am majoring in Strategic Communications and enjoy graphic designing and working at Stillwater Living Magazine.

Jamie is majoring in biochemistry and spends a lot of his time in the biochem laboratory.

We will both be graduating in May.

My parents came to Oklahoma for the first time for my graduation.

I haven’t been able to see my parents in nearly 2 years in order to save up for this trip.

Jamie and I are so happy they could be here for this exciting time in our lives.

After graduation, Jamie and I will be moving back to Germany.

I have enjoyed my time here in the United States.

OSU has been a very welcoming place and great experience.

Sabrina Swanger is one of the most talented students in the School of Media and Strategic Communications.  She is from Germany and has lived in Stillwater for the past 4 years.  In May, Sabrina will graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Strategic Communications.  Sabrina is bilingual, speaking German and English fluently, and an extremely talented graphic designer.   After graduation, Sabrina will be moving back to Germany with her family and boyfriend, Jamie, to pursue her career.  Sabrina believes that OSU's School of Media and Strategic Communications has successfully prepared her for a career not only in Oklahoma or the United States, but also across the world. Sabrina is a great representative of the school and would be a great ambassador for foreign students interested in attending OSU.

Originally from Germany, Sabrina likes to embrace her heritage. She is from a small village named Neuhof.

Four years ago, Sabrina came to Oklahoma to be with the love of her life, Jamie.  They met in Germany when he was studying abroad. She has taught Jamie to speak her native language, German.

Sabrina spends majority of her free time on school work. She enjoys graphic designing and has a true talent for it. 

When Sabrina isn't working on school, she works for Stillwater Living Magazine doing much of their designing.  Her connections that she have made through OSU and work have made her transition to Oklahoma from Germany go smoothly.

In her free time, Sabrina stays in touch with her German roots by enjoying German literature.

Her boyfriend, Jamie, spends majority of his time in the biochemistry lab.  Nearly every day, Sabrina packs and delivers a lunch for Jamie. 

Sabrina hasn't seen her parents in over 2 years. She hasn't been back to Germany in order to afford her parents coming for her graduation.   To stay in touch with her parents and sisters, she Skype's with them daily.

Sabrina's parents are finally coming to Stillwater for her graduation.  This was an emotional walk for Sabrina into the Tulsa Airport to surprise her parents when they landed in Oklahoma for the first time.

Sabrina anxiously waited the arrival of her parents.

Finally reunited.

The Swanger's were excited to be in Oklahoma to celebrate the graduation of their daughter.

After graduation, Sabrina and Jamie will return to Germany to finally start their lives and careers together, where they met and always wanted to be, Neuhof, Germany.
