Portraits

This is Sarah and I put this picture up purely for fun. I love everything about it.
This is Dedra, she is a co-worker of mine and also a founder of a new Sorority on campus. This is an example of rule of thirds.

I put this picture up for comic relief. Her hair is EVERYWHERE:)

In this picture I was trying to get a car driving by, I didn't really succeed but I thought this picture turned out cool anyway.

This is Sarah, her life revolves around football and her English bulldog Tino (in the background of this picture) I love how close she allowed me to get to take this picture.

I like this picture, it captures her personality.

This is Jenna. This is an example of the rule of thirds composition element. I love the fence in the background with the ivy.

Portraits

This is a girl named Jackie who I met at the bar. She was really hesitant to let me take her picture, but I really liked the red streaks in her hair and thought it would pop well because the environment around her was so dark. I like the way it contrasts and that she is in the far right of the picture.

This is a guy named Dave that I met at the bar. I asked if I could take his picture and he was really nice about it. I got right up in his face, zoomed in and bent down a little to get a slight upward angle and it didn't make him uncomfortable at all. He stayed until I got a photo I liked.

This is my friend. Max, talking to some friends at the bar. He looked up at me and I really liked this picture because he is in his element, he is genuine, the tables behind him show repetition and I like the red "Citizens" sign behind him. If I could change this photo, I would crop the girl's face out of the left side and the little strip above the fence at the top of the picture.

An impromptu photo shoot broke out when we took a break during an all-nighter for a group project.. I dig the lighting

I think the reflection adds a cool context to this image. I'm not sure if she knew I was even taking this picture though..

Eat your heart out Party Pics.

Sunglasses at 5 in the morning. I like the texture of the hat and the subtle lighting.

Trey Mabray - Portrait

This is Aaron. He is an artist in Stillwater. He let me paint his face in a pattern that resembled the Phantom of the Opera. I like how the lines lead you to his face and his eyes look across the picture.
This works at the wine bar downtown. This picture plays on the rule of thirds composition element and the juxtoposition between the hard lines and dirty brick and the well dressed girl.

This is Jessa. She works at Zanotti's, the wine bar downtown. I photographed her between two buildings downtown. I like that it kind of plays on the depth of field and leading lines rule.

This picture is of my friend from high school. I decided to wrap black crepe paper around her face to give her a ninja-esque look. I like how her face fills the frame and her eyes play on the rule of thirds rule.

Portraits

This picture is appealing to the eye because of the bridge in the background and he stands out from it because your eye can't go any further than the bridge basically.
I liked this one because there is a little bit of color coordination, which wasn't planned but kind of happened anyway. Although, I'm concerned with the shadows on his face though. Good or bad?

This was at a baseball stadium and you can kind of tell (hopefully not after I told you) because of the background. I thought it was kind of an informational background as to where the photograph was taken. His white shirt really stands out among the greens.

This is a close up (obviously) and his face takes up most of the frame. I liked his smile and that I caught him while he was looking down.

I met Tori when she was waiting tables and Shortcakes, and she was more than willing to pose for my pictures.

I tried to use the rule of thirds. Also, the background is a little less in focus tham her face, which I like.

Just a man a talked to in a restaurant and he let me take his picture.

Mallory-- Portrait Photos

This is a picture of a girl that I met at the gas station. (Talk about randomly meeting new people to photograph) Her name is Katherine. I just love this picture becuase of the lighting in the backround. It really makes her hair and eyes pop.

Here's another picture of Katherine. I really like this picture also becuase, once again, the lighting. I think she looks really mysterious.

This is a girl that I see pretty much everyday, riding her bike around my neighborhood. Her name is Sarah and she was sweet enough to stop for a quick pic.

This is a picture of my 2-year-old nephew Haden, I took a couple weeks ago, so I don't know if it can be graded for this assignment. But I love the picture and the moment it captured. So I wanted to share it with the class.

This is Jordan Gatlin outside Joseppi's.

This is Jordan again, and I like this picture of her better than the previous. It is closer up and even though part of her is cut off, it was done on purpose for the effect.

This is Tyler Driskell in the park. I like the effect of him in the shadows with his dark hair, shirt and the tree being dark against the light contrast in the backgroud.

This is one of the firefighters at the Stillwater Fire

Department. Him and a few other firefighters were

at the station on a break and he was more than happy

to take a few pictures. I enjoyed going there because it

was really the first time I went out of my way to take

pictures of someone I didn't know. Also, I think that these

pictures tell a story.

This is Morgan Shoeling. She is studying to be a chiropractor at OSU.
I took a few pictures of her at the office she works at in Stillwater. I like how
in this picture the light from the window is really bright and looks a little over exposed,
but she is exposed perfectly.

Portraits

This is Kendall, a waitress at Mom's Place. This one might be a little busy, but I like it because the mirror behind her shows the rest of the restaurant.

The is James Alexander Hair, a former OSU professor. I found him at Shortcakes. He was resistant to let me take his picture, joking that he was wanted in four states.

The lighting was hard to work with in the restaurant, but i like that one side of his face is lit up and the other is shaded.

This is Mike Story. He is a former hippie and now he is the BCM director at OSU. This one is a little hot, but I like it because it helps show his eyes.

Portrait Pics

This is my new friend, Alese. We discovered this crazy wall today between classes. The sun was really bright so I turned up the shutter speed and zoomed in. I got about 20 shots on this wall but this one was my favorite because it was the most natural. I love all the color going on, which goes well with her fun personality, and the sun coming in from behind the building on the far left.

The light is pretty bright here- the sun was shining directly on her so I had to make a lot of adjustments but I like the way this one turned out.

This weekend I went to Little Rock and Conway, Arkansas to see my close friend, Kelsey, whose wedding I'll be in January 9. She had her first bridal shower, which was thrown by her mom (pictured here), sister and sister-in-law. Kelsey is so much like her mom. They are incredibly funny and a joy to be around.

This is Megan. This photo was taken in the afternoon in the shade. I like that you can see the reflection in the window.

This is Megan again. I really like the lighting in this photo. I was from behind her and almost creates a halo affect. I like that she is smiling as well.

This is Emily. I like that you can tell she is surrounded by plants, but because they are blurred it doesn't distract from the subject. I also like that you can see the light reflecting on her hair and that she is only in half of the photo.
